The Scouts & Explorers have recently returned from the Lech valley in Austria, following an action packed & highly successful summer camp in the beautiful Lechtal region of the Austrian Tirol. Based in Stockach near the village of Bach, the Scouts & Explorers enjoyed an action packed programme of activities through Jeka Holidays of Belgium. The Group stayed in their own chalet on a self catering basis & travelled to & from Austria via Abbotts of Leeming coaches. During their stay the Group took part in daily excursions & also made full use of the public transport which regulary runs along the valley.
Activities included swimming at Steeg, Bach, Haselghr & Vorderhornbach as well as the Wally Blitz Alpine coaster which is handily situated in the valley. Excursions with the coach included the High ropes course at Nesselwangle, a trip to the Fairy tale castle of Neuchwanstein in Bavaria & White water rafting at Haiming, as well as the largest Alpine coaster in the world at Imst. The group also enjoyed spectacular views of the valley via the JochelSpitze cable car & enjoyed a look around the town of Fussen in Germany. One of the highlights of the trip was a day excursion to Area 47 near Imst, This mega water park included some fantastic water slides & even a water cannon. (See trailer). The Scouts & Explorers would like to thank all the parents who supported & funded the trip as well as the Group committee who helped out with rising costs due to fuel prices. The trip was an outstanding success & enjoyed by all who took part & we now look forward to our next Summer camp in 2024 which will be in France.
