Welcome to 1st Hexham Scouts !

CHECK OUT OUR SHORT AUSTRIA VIDEO IN THE SCOUT SECTION !

1st Hexham Scout Group is based in the market town of Hexham in Northumberland. We are approximately 20 miles from the City of Newcastle upon Tyne. Our headquarters is situated at Maidens Walk in the East end of the town, behind Hexham General Hospital. The Group has three sections comprising Beaver Scouts, Cub scouts and Scouts, covering an age range of 6 years to 14 years. We are always needing more adults prepared to join the Group & get involved in supporting our young people.

Apart from the satisfaction of getting involved, it is also great fun & as an adult in scouting, you also get the chance to participate in many of our scouting activities !

Looking for a venue to hold a meeting for up to 12 people? The Scout Group has now opened our brand new extension facility. Click here for further details!

NEW EXTENSION

In 2002 the Scout Group completed the largest project in its history, with the building of our new headquarters the lookwide centre, at a cost of £230,000. Today the centre is widely used by the Scout Group and is available for hire by the local community for a wide variety of purposes. For more information on how you can book our centre for your event, please contact us.

The Scout Centre has a large main hall, kitchen, leaders lounge and a small bunkroom as well as full toilet (including disabled) & shower facilities. We have also recently completed the building of a new extension on the rear of the building to provide extra meeting space.

The 1st Hexham has built up a good reputation for providing fun, exciting & adventurous scouting for young people in the town.
